Geofencing
Set a radius per location. Attempts from outside are refused or flagged, with the actual distance on the record.
Clock-ins tied to a place and a shift, not to an honesty system. Three ways to capture them, one record at the end.
Staff open the app on site and clock in. TaskBit records the location, the distance from the geofence centre and the time, and matches the punch to the shift it belongs to. Buddy-punching from the car park stops being possible.

Turn any tablet into a shared clock-in point tied to one location, unlocked with a PIN or the shift QR code.
Nudge at shift start, warn on a missed clock-out, and prompt when a break should end.
Basements, loading bays and rural sites: the punch queues locally and syncs later, with the original timestamp.
A real-time board of who is on site, who is late and who has not turned up — per location.
Break auto-deduction, rounding and overtime thresholds configured per location rather than argued about per person.
Plenty of sites cannot rely on personal devices — a kitchen, a ward, a warehouse floor. Kiosk mode pins a tablet to one location and lets people clock in with a PIN or by scanning the shift QR code, with the same geofence and the same audit trail.

No. Location is read at the moment of a clock-in or clock-out, purely to confirm the punch happened on site, and the distance is stored with that punch. There is no background tracking, and this is stated in our privacy policy.
A reminder fires at the expected end of shift. If the punch is still missing, the timesheet raises a discrepancy flag for the manager to correct before approval — with the correction recorded.
The app queues the punch locally with its real timestamp and uploads it when connectivity returns. The record shows both the time it happened and the time it synced.
Kiosk mode is the supported route: any tablet or spare device becomes a fixed clock-in point. There is no separate hardware to buy or maintain.
