Gross to net
Basic pay, overtime, holiday pay and premiums through to net, with every line itemised on the payslip.
Weekly, bi-weekly or monthly pay runs straight from locked timesheets, with gross-to-net calculated and a payslip PDF waiting in each employee’s own app.
A pay run reads locked timesheet periods and nothing else. Hourly and salaried staff run together, holiday pay and premiums apply by rule, and each payslip shows exactly which hours produced it.
Illustrative figures · cumulative PAYE across the tax year
Basic pay, overtime, holiday pay and premiums through to net, with every line itemised on the payslip.
Tax calculated across the year using prior locked payslips, not period by period in isolation.
Generated per employee and available in their own app — no more emailing payslips around.
Held encrypted, and changed through a verified two-step request rather than an email to finance.
A finalised run is immutable. Corrections are new, visible adjustments.
Clean, approved figures out to your existing payroll provider or accountant.
Every employee sees their own pay history and downloads their payslip PDFs from the app they already use for shifts. The single biggest source of "quick question" emails to finance, gone.
TaskBit calculates payroll and produces payslips. It is not an HMRC-recognised filer: it does not submit RTI (FPS/EPS), and it does not produce P45s or P60s or run pension auto-enrolment assessment and provider filing. That is a deliberate decision — those obligations stay with your payroll bureau, accountant or provider, and TaskBit hands them clean, approved figures instead of a spreadsheet. If you need a single system that files with HMRC itself, TaskBit is not that system today, and we would rather you knew now than in April.
No. It calculates gross-to-net — PAYE, National Insurance, student loans, pension deductions and holiday pay — and produces payslips, but it does not make RTI submissions to HMRC and does not produce P45s or P60s. Those remain with your bureau or payroll provider, who receive approved figures from TaskBit.
Two ways. Either TaskBit is the pay-prep and payslip system and a bureau files, or TaskBit exports approved hours and the provider does the calculation as well. Both remove the re-keying step, which is where the errors come from.
The engine implements 2025/26 PAYE and NI structures, including category letters and student loan plans, with cumulative year-to-date calculation.
Yes — a single run covers both, taking hourly staff from locked timesheets and salaried staff from contracted pay.
Payroll is a manager and finance function server-side: staff can only reach their own payslips, and any attempt at someone else’s is refused by the API, not just hidden in the menu.
Payroll is on the Pro plan, and included in every 14-day trial.
