TaskBit for retail

Staff the shop floor to the budget, not to a hunch.

Peak trading, seasonal hires and a labour percentage the area manager asks about every week. TaskBit shows the cost while you build the rota, not after payroll.

The week you actually run

Where retail weeks go wrong.

Peaks you can see coming

Everyone knows Saturday is busier. The rota is still built from last week’s copy, and the cost is checked afterwards.

Seasonal intake

Forty temporary starters need contracts, right-to-work checks and training before the first shift — usually in the same fortnight.

Branch by branch

Every store manager keeps their own spreadsheet, so head office has no comparable view of hours or cost.

Labour budget

Cost is on the screen while you build.

Set a labour budget per store and per week, and the rota costs itself as you assign. You find out you are over on Wednesday, when moving one shift fixes it — rather than in the following month’s P&L.

  • Live cost as shifts are assigned
  • Budget per store and per week
  • Variance flagged before publishing
  • Actual against budget once timesheets are approved
  • Roll-up across every branch for head office

Seasonal hiring

Forty starters, without forty paper folders.

Invite the intake by email or link, collect right-to-work evidence, issue and e-sign contracts, assign mandatory training and watch the compliance board go green — all before the first shift, all on their phones.

  • Bulk invite with self-service onboarding
  • Contracts e-signed on a phone
  • Right to work stored and status-tracked
  • Mandatory training assigned per role
  • Deactivate at the end of the season and the seat frees up

Why multi-branch retailers pick it.

  • One organisation, many stores, permissions that match the structure
  • Store managers build rotas; head office sees the group
  • Seasonal intake onboarded and offboarded without paper
  • Clock-in tied to the store’s geofence or a back-office kiosk
  • Hours to payroll with no re-keying between systems

Questions

What retail operators ask.

Can store managers only see their own store?

Yes — location scoping is enforced server-side, including on exports and reports. A store manager cannot pull group data by changing a filter.

How do we handle a Christmas intake?

Invite in bulk, let people complete their own profile, right-to-work evidence and contract signature on their phone, then deactivate at the end of the season. Seats free up on your next invoice.

Does it integrate with our EPOS for demand forecasting?

Not today. TaskBit costs the rota against a budget you set; it does not forecast demand from sales data. API access on Pro lets you feed your own forecast in.

Can we compare stores?

Yes — hours, cost against budget, headcount and turnover by store and region, exportable to CSV or PDF.
