Why we built it

Ask a duty manager where their week goes and the answer is rarely the work itself. It goes on rebuilding a rota because someone called in sick, chasing timesheets that do not match the door, re-typing hours into a payroll system, and finding out on the day that a certificate expired last month.

Meanwhile the person on shift has a different problem: they cannot see next week's rota without asking, cannot book leave without a form, and cannot get a payslip without emailing head office.

Both problems are the same problem. The information exists — it is just scattered across a spreadsheet, a group chat, a filing cabinet and someone's inbox. TaskBit puts it in one place and lets it flow: the rota feeds attendance, attendance feeds timesheets, timesheets feed pay, and every document that could expire is watched.

What we believe

• The frontline app matters most. If staff will not open it, nothing else in the platform works.
• Say what the software does not do. Our payroll is not an HMRC-recognised filer, and we put that on the payroll page rather than in a footnote you find in April.
• Permissions should match the org chart. A manager sees their locations. A staff member sees themselves. An agency’s client sees only their own placements.
• Data belongs to the customer. Export it whenever you want, in a format you can actually use.
• Price for the team you have. Free under ten people, because that is where most operations start.
